BMA Presides Over Auspicious Pillar-Raising Ceremony for Wat Nai Rong Meditation Center and Traditional Medical Clinic

On June 7, 2026, Ms. Kanokwan Siamlim, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), presided over the traditional main and secondary pillar-raising ceremony (Phithi Yok Sao Ek – Sao Tho) at the Wat Nai Rong Educational Park in Taling Chan District. Co-presided over by Phra Khru Rattanasophon, Abbot of Wat Nai Rong, as the monastic chair, the sacred ceremony brought together public and private sector representatives, Buddhist devotees, and local residents. The event marked the official commencement of construction for the temple’s new multi-purpose facility, which is designed to serve as a vital community hub for spiritual growth and holistic health.

The building project represents a significant expansion of Wat Nai Rong’s religious site development and public community services. Once completed, the center will serve a dual purpose as a dedicated venue for studying Buddhist teachings, hosting meditation retreats, and offering professional traditional Thai medical services to the general public. By blending spiritual propagation with conventional public health initiatives, the temple and the BMA aim to actively preserve valuable national medical heritage while simultaneously elevating the daily quality of life, mental well-being, and physical health of the local community and neighboring areas.

To finance the construction, Wat Nai Rong has launched a comprehensive fundraising campaign held in conjunction with the 20th anniversary celebration of the Wat Nai Rong Radio Station. Operating under the theme “Once a Year: Uniting Forces to Create a Wisdom-Rich Society”, the campaign features various Buddhist propagation activities aiming at gathering public contributions. All proceeds from the event, after expenses, will be directed to the building fund to ensure the swift, successful completion of the structure, enabling it to serve as a sustainable haven for public wisdom and wellness.
