BMA and Local Volunteers Clean Up Pracha Uthit 76 to Eradicate Illegal Waste Dumping

On June 2, 2026, Miss Aranya Pornchaiya, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), presided over a community volunteer initiative in Soi Pracha Uthit 76, Thung Khru District. Organized to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s birthday and National Tree Planting Day 2026, the event brought together district executives, public officials, and representatives from the local Tai Saphan Zone 1 community. The collective efforts focused on Soi Pracha Uthit 76 Yaek 5, a location that had previously suffered from severe environmental degradation due to persistent, unauthorized garbage disposal by external individuals.

During the cleanup, Miss Aranya emphasized that the campaign aims to foster widespread societal awareness regarding the long-term impact of municipal waste on urban health and public safety. Beyond clearing out mounds of accumulated debris, the BMA has instructed district administrators to transform the site into a permanent model of cleanliness and order. To enforce this, the Thung Khru District Office is implementing continuous surveillance measures, including notifying relevant landowners to secure their properties and coordinating the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to deter and catch future violators.

To visually and environmentally rehabilitate the neighborhood, participants concluded the day by planting Pterocarpus indicus and Tecoma stans trees, effectively transforming the former dumping ground into a vibrant urban green space. This collaborative effort stands as a crucial milestone in local environmental management, highlighting how proactive government regulation combined with active community participation can successfully restore public spaces. By fostering a shared sense of civic responsibility, the initiative ensures that Soi Pracha Uthit 76 remains a clean, beautiful, and sustainable environment that directly elevates the long-term well-being of all residential families.
