Bangkok Welcomes Millions in Vibrant Pride Parade to Champion Diversity and Launch Official Bid for World Pride 2030

On May 31, 2026, Silom Road was transformed into a sea of rainbow colors as the Bangkok Pride Parade 2026 marched from Nararom Intersection through the heart of the capital. Despite torrential rain, the parade of diversity proceeded with immense energy, drawing participants from all corners of the globe. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) actively participated in the event, with city executives and uniformed personnel from various departments, including city law enforcement officers, medical professionals, educators, and athletes, marching side by side in vibrant attire. Walking under the green parade banner themed “Green Parade — Patch of Harmony,” the BMA delegation reflected the city’s concrete policy of openness, inclusivity, and equal rights for all individuals.

The spectacular parade was divided into five distinct sections, each sharing a central message of equality. Themes ranged from “Bangkok Welcome THE WORLD,” which declared the city’s progressive global stance, to “Love Makes a Family,” highlighting diverse family structures. At the core of the celebration was a rich display of Thai culture, seamlessly blending traditional elements like Likay theater and dance with modern aerobics, drag performances, and even a section dedicated to stray dogs and cats. Beyond celebrating the present, the event marked a historic milestone for Thailand’s future on the global stage.

During the festivities, the BMA, alongside the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Narumit Pride, and various cross-sector partners, officially announced Thailand’s bid to host World Pride 2030. As the world’s largest pride festival attracting millions of international visitors, securing the hosting rights would officially cement Bangkok’s status as a global metropolis of diversity and equality. Every step taken on Silom Road served as a professional demonstration that Bangkok is ready to take this giant leap toward sustainable urban inclusivity.
