Nong Chok Hosts High-Stakes International BMX Championships as Governor Opens 2026 Thailand Cup

On the morning of March 14, 2026, the BMX track at Kamol FBT Sports Park in Nong Chok District transformed into a high-octane arena as Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, officially opened the 2025 Thailand BMX Cycling Championships (Round 2). This prestigious event, held in competition for the Royal Trophy bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, runs concurrently with the International THAILAND BMX CUP – C1. By hosting this internationally recognized C1-level competition, the Thailand Cycling Association under Royal Patronage aims to provide a platform for both local and global athletes to accumulate essential world ranking points while fostering a vibrant exchange of professional experience across borders.

During his opening address, Governor Chadchart emphasized that BMX racing is far more than a test of speed; it is a discipline that demands exceptional agility, mental toughness, and precise control over complex courses featuring challenging hills and obstacles. He noted that organizing such a high-caliber event in Bangkok is a strategic move to raise the standard of Thai cycling, offering local riders the rare opportunity to compete against international talent on home soil. This exposure is seen as a critical stepping stone for propelling Thai athletes onto the global stage with confidence and technical proficiency.

The two-day championship, which concludes on March 15, is a collaborative triumph involving key sports figures, including General Decha Hemkrasri, President of the Thailand Cycling Association, and Mr. Kamol Chokpaiboonkit, Chairman of the FBT Group. Through their combined efforts, the Kamol FBT Sports Park has become a focal point for sports development in the region. As the races get underway, the atmosphere in Nong Chok remains electric, underscoring Bangkok’s growing reputation as a hub for world-class sporting events that prioritize talent development and international cooperation.
