On March 16, 2026, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, presided as a witness at Bangkok City Hall for the presentation of a prestigious international scholarship to a BMA student. Miss Nanthawon Panngam, a 5th-year secondary student at the BMA-affiliated Matthayom Ban Bang Kapi Secondary School, was officially awarded the opportunity to attend the 19th OISCA JAPAN SUMMER CAMP 2026. This scholarship, provided entirely by J-Education, a Japanese language school and study abroad counseling center, grants the student a three-week immersive experience at OISCA Hamamatsu Kokusai Senior High School in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, from April 1 to April 22, 2026. The award was presented by Mr. Takuo Hasegawa, Managing Director of J-Education and Chairman of NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK, with the Governor overseeing the ceremony to show his support for youth development.
During the event, Governor Chadchart offered his encouragement to Miss Nanthawon, wishing her a safe journey and emphasizing the long-term value of global networking. He noted that the camp is an ideal platform for building friendships with Japanese peers and learning about different cultural and development concepts that could eventually be brought back to benefit Thailand. By witnessing this private-sector contribution, the Governor highlighted the importance of international partnerships that provide high-value opportunities for BMA students. The program is designed to broaden the student’s perspective through firsthand exposure to a different educational environment and lifestyle.
The ceremony was also attended by officials from the BMA Education Department and the International Affairs Office, as well as executives from J-Education. This collaboration builds on J-Education’s long-standing history of supporting over 6,000 Thai students since 1999 and their ongoing involvement with the NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK event. This scholarship stands as a significant example of how external educational organizations can play a pivotal role in enriching the academic journeys of local students, offering them a chance to represent their city on an international stage at no cost to the municipal administration.
