
Friday 14 November 2025, Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China – Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, along with Mr. Torsak Chotimongkol, Chairman of Advisors to Governor, Mr. Wisanu Subsompol, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, and Mr. Pimuk Simaroj, Secretary to Governor of Bangkok, Mrs. Jiraporn Pungprawat, Director of City Relations Promotion Division as of Acting Director of International Affairs Office together with officials from the BMA’s International Affairs Office, embarked on an official visit to Shenzhen. They met with Mr. Luo Huangho, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, together with excutive members of Shenzhen Municipality People’s Government to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Bangkok and Shenzhen, which aligns with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Thai–Chinese diplomatic relations in the same year.
During the discussion, both sides affirmed their commitment to promoting cooperation in trade and investment, collaboration in emerging industries, and cooperation in culture and tourism, smart city development, innovation, alongside environmental conservation. Representatives from Shenzhen shared their experiences in urban technology development, science and technology, new energy vehicle development, and environmental management, which are the strengths of this leading innovation city in China.
In response, the Governor of Bangkok praised Shenzhen’s urban development and expressed his interest in learning the approaches and experiences regarding attracting high-potential individuals for city development, improving regulations for economic growth, encouraging private sector participation in city development, and promoting cooperation in advanced skill education, which will be beneficial for the future development of Bangkok.
This visit reflects the strong relationship and the potential for developing in-depth cooperation between Bangkok and Shenzhen to sustainably enhance the quality of life for their citizens in the next decades.
