25,476 People Pay Respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother

(November 3, 2025) Mr. Taiwhut Khankaew, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), reported on the BMA’s daily operations to facilitate and provide convenience to the public paying respects before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The details are as follows:

A total of 2,610 people passed through the Manee Nopparat Gate today to pay their respects before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace, bringing the accumulated total to 25,476 people since October 27, 2025.

The BMA provided 27 wheelchairs (3 for men and 24 for women) and electric golf cart services for 250 people today. The accumulated number of golf cart users between October 30 and November 2, 2025, stood at 1,152 people.

Clothing Lending Service: Today, a total of 426 people use the clothing lending service, which included 418 Thai nationals and 8 foreigners. Among them, 401 borrowed sarongs and 25 borrowed trousers. All items are laundered and cleaned after each use before being made available again to the public.

Sanitation and Environment: A total of 1,231 kilograms of solid waste was collected, consisting of 410 kilograms of general waste, 463 kilograms of recyclable waste, and 358 kilograms of food waste. Fourteen mobile toilet buses and ten toilet booths for the elderly were stationed at key locations: 6 mobile toilet buses and 10 toilet booths for the elderly opposite Wat Mahathat, 4 mobile toilet buses opposite the Phra Mae Thorani Shrine (relocated from Thammasat University), and 1 mobile toilet bus opposite the Supreme Court, 1 mobile toilet bus on Hap Phoei Road and 2 buses inside the Grand Palace, comprising 1 towable toilet cabin and 1 toilet bus. Furthermore, a vacuum truck and a sludge transport truck were deployed opposite the Phra Mae Thorani Shrine to collect waste three times a day — in the morning, at noon, and in the evening.

Medical and First Aid Services: A total of 12 medical service points were set up at: Na Phra Lan Tunnel (2), Royal Field or Sanam Luang waiting tents (2), waiting area near Thammasat University (1), Royal Kitchen (1), Methavalai (1), Phra Mae Thorani Shrine (1), Phra Ratchawang Police Station (1), Samranrat Police Station (1), Nang Loeng Police Station (1), and Hap Phoei Road (1).
Medical and nursing teams provided health services and advice throughout the day to 697 people, including 1 hospital transfer, 52 general symptom cases, 463 first-aid cases not requiring doctor examination, and 181 people receiving medical supplies.

Safety and Security: Today, the BMA provided additional machinery and equipment at Sanam Luang, including:

  1. One mobile meeting vehicle,
  2. One mobile sleeping van,
  3. One 10-wheel truck equipped with a crane,
  4. One 200 kVA generator,
  5. One 10-wheel trailer, and
  6. One electric lift truck.
    A total of 15 officers were assigned to the machinery operations team, and 8 officers to the electrical team.

Public Relations: Additional public information materials were prepared, including:

  1. Two signboards for volunteer motorcycle services offering free rides,
  2. One standee sign indicating the route to the royal tribute area, and
  3. Two cutout banners expressing condolences were installed at the BMA City Hall.
    In addition, public communication and outreach materials such as infographics and video clips related to travel arrangements for paying tribute before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother were disseminated through various social media channels to inform the public.
