Continuing the Songkran festival of the Mon people until 18 April 2024 @ Bang Kradi Temple, Bang Khun Thian.

Mr. Chalermpon Chotinuchit, Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA, presided over the opening ceremony of the project to preserve and preserve Thai Raman-Bang Kradi culture for the year 2024 at Bang Kradi Temple, Bang Khun Thian District.

He said that Bangkok attaches importance to the preservation and continuation of Thai traditions, arts, and culture every year to demonstrate the beauty of Thai society since our ancestors and truly indicate Thainess. Organizing this event is considered to be in line with Bangkok’s policies and able to draw on the identity of building the economy of all 50 districts throughout Bangkok, that is, having products, activities, or services that are consistent in the same direction. It encourages communities, temples, and schools to participate in cultural operations beneficial to tourism promotion. It is also a way to conserve and continue good arts and culture to be sustainable. It also shows the strength of the community which is considered to be one of the oldest Mon communities in Bangkok that still maintains this good culture and tradition very well.

The Songkran festival of the Bang Kradi community is a tradition that has been passed down for a long time and is unique to the Thai people of Mon descent and deserves to be promoted, continued and made widely known. For the tradition to exist with the community and Thai society, the Bang Khun Thian District Office organizes a project to preserve and preserve the Thai Raman-Bang Kradi culture for 3 days between 16-18 April 2024 at Bang Kradi Temple, with many different activities.
