Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, reiterated that people can be confident that cadmium contamination has not yet been found in the Bang Sue District area. The important process is to move out safely.

“It is important not to be alarmed and we have only sealed off the factory and have not found the spread of any chemicals. The chemicals are not airborne and are only harmful to those exposed for long periods.”

Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, revealed the action taken by Bangkok after cadmium was detected in the Bang Sue District and built confidence among the people.

He also said that Bangkok has been coordinating closely with the Ministry of Industry since Saturday after hearing the news in the Samut Sakhon province because there are opportunities coming to Bangkok as it is a continuous area. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has ordered all districts to complete inspections of foundry-coating plants in the area after Songkran by informing them of the appearance of the suspected Big Bag, with a container size of approximately 1 cubic meter with the letter P and the date on the front of the bag. If it is found, please notify us immediately and do not touch the suspicious object. For the incident in Bang Sue District, we have assigned the District Director to report the illegal storage of dangerous substances without permission and sent officers to control the front and surrounding areas.

Mr. Chadchart reiterates to reassure the people that I ask people not to worry about the spread, but moving must be sure and safe. The main issue is not the time or speed of the movement, but the process of not being lost during the movement is more important.
