Get ready to wave the rainbow flag and celebrate equal love at the Bangkok Pride 2024 Celebration of Love on 1 June.

 

Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, chaired the meeting to prepare for the Bangkok Pride 2024 Celebration of Love event.

“This year is considered the third year of organizing the Pride Parade. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate the Equal Marriage Act after its passage in its third term. It is good news for all of us. Last Valentine’s Day, there were 164 LGBTQ+ marriages in all 50 district offices.
For this year’s Bangkok Pride 2024, Bangkok is ready to fully support as usual,” said Deputy Governor Sanont.

Pride Festival, held to celebrate the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ people, takes place every June. Bangkok Pride will first be held in 2022 on Silom Road and in 2023 on Rama 1 Road, from in front of the Bangkok Art and Culture Center to Central World. There were more than 100,000 participants, both Thais and foreigners and partners from many sectors.

From the successes of the past year, including the Equal Marriage Act which has passed its third term, This year, Narumit Pride joins hands with Bangkok and its partners to prepare to elevate the Bangkok Pride 2024 event with the concept of Celebration of Love to a festival level. The atmosphere of the event will be a celebration of love that is equal and diverse with rights issues of the diverse gender community in all dimensions. It will be held between 31 May – 4 June 2024. The Pride Parade, which is considered one of the highlights of the event, will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 on Rama 1 Road from the National Stadium area to Central World, consisting of 5 parades: Red Parade (Love Wins), Yellow Parade (Love for Identity), Green Parade (Love for Dignity), Blue Parade (Love for Peace and Earth) and Purple Parade (Love for Freedom). As for other activities, academic forums will be added to discuss LGBTQ+ issues in medicine, tourism, and the media and entertainment industries to show the strong drive for equality work from all sectors.
