Bangkok Metropolitan Administration warns that dust values will likely increase on 2-8 April for 3 reasons, even though the ventilation rate is quite good.

Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth, Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok and the first Chief Sustainability Officer of the BMA revealed that dust values will likely increase on 2-8 April for 3 reasons, even though the ventilation rate is quite good for 3 reasons:

1. Information from the Meteorological Department reports that the wind direction is west, different from other days from the Gulf of Thailand.

2. Data from the Suomi NPP satellite and the VIIRS system report that the western region, both within Thailand and neighboring countries, found quite a lot of hot spots during the 24 hours.

3. On April 9 – 10, the ventilation rate will decrease from the present and must be closely monitored, but it is expected that the wind direction will return to being from the Gulf of Thailand.
