On June 11, 2026, Mr. Narong Ruengsri, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), led a comprehensive rehearsal for the upcoming “Thai People, Khlong Prem: One Waterway” event. Commencing at 06.30 hrs. along the Prem Prachakon Canal in Don Mueang District, the operational walkthrough focused on three local communities: Prachakon 3, Rom Sai Ngam Phatthana, and Pu Chao Saming Phrai Saphan Poon. The joint rehearsal was attended by BMA Deputy Permanent Secretary Taiwhut Khankaew, district executives, and representatives from the Governor of Bangkok Secretariat, alongside regional departments spanning drainage, public works, environment, and traffic management to ensure seamless synchronization ahead of the formal celebrations.
The drill meticulously covered all core ceremonial and public service activities scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, in honor of Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s 4th Cycle Birthday Anniversary. Operations began with a rehearsal of the morning merit-making ritual, which features a scenic waterborne procession of 98 monks traveling by boat from 12 canal-side temples to receive rice and dried food from residents along the banks, culminating in an official blessing from Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamongkon Muni of Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan. Additionally, teams practiced the distribution logistics for public utility equipment and community donations supplied by 49 participating organizations.
To promote environmental sustainability and regional unity across Bangkok, Pathum Thani, and Ayutthaya provinces, officials also rehearsed community-led public service initiatives. These include a localized tree-planting campaign encouraging canal residents to register for residential greenery, vegetables, and gardening equipment. The rehearsal concluded with the staging of the evening candle-lighting ceremony designed to foster mass public participation. Mr. Narong instructed all municipal departments to strictly cross-verify venue setups, personnel deployments, and marine safety protocols, guaranteeing that the multi-provincial celebration proceeds with absolute dignity while maximizing tangible quality-of-life benefits for the historic canal communities.
