BMA and Krungthai-AXA Unveil “Hearts & Health Park” to Boost Urban Wellness Across Bangkok

On February 26, 2026, Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, attended the press conference to launch the “KTAXA Hearts & Health Park” project, a landmark collaboration between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance. Held at the newly renovated futsal field in Wachirabenchatat Park (Rot Fai Park), the ceremony marked the formal handover of upgraded sports facilities and recreational equipment designed to enhance the quality of life for Bangkok residents. Representing the private sector were Krungthai-AXA CEO Knattapisit Krutkrongchai and CMO Bubphawadee Owararinth, who highlighted the company’s commitment to making health and wellness accessible through the improvement of three iconic public spaces: Lumphini Park, Wachirabenchatat Park, and Benchakitti Park.

During the press conference, Deputy Governor Sanon expressed deep gratitude for the partnership, noting that Wachirabenchatat Park’s sports center alone serves nearly 1,000 visitors daily. He emphasized that relying solely on government funding is insufficient for a city as vast as Bangkok, making private sector participation a cornerstone of Governor Chadchart Sittipunt’s administration. By renovating the park’s largest futsal field, providing pedal boats and life jackets, and establishing a boxing ring at Benchakitti Park, the project creates tangible benefits for students and the general public alike. The BMA has committed to the long-term maintenance of these upgraded facilities to ensure they remain safe and welcoming hubs for exercise and community building.

Beyond infrastructure, the project extends its reach to youth health by donating sports equipment to BMA-affiliated schools. Mr. Knattapisit explained that the “Hearts & Health” philosophy focuses on creating environments that naturally encourage physical activity as part of daily life, leading to a stronger society. This synergy between the public and private sectors aligns with the BMA’s broader goals of increasing green spaces and mitigating the effects of global warming. Ultimately, the project serves as a sustainable model for urban development, ensuring that Bangkok’s residents have free and equitable access to high-quality health resources in the heart of the city.
