(February 14, 2025) – Bangkok’s future healthcare leaders are stepping up. Assoc. Prof. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, attended the closing ceremony for the 19th BMA Nursing Administration Program at Phitthayarak Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Medical Services Department, Pom Prap Sattru Phai District. The event marked the culmination of an intensive leadership and management training course for nurse administrators, designed to enhance healthcare services and expand public access to essential medical care.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of BMA Healthy Life Medicine, a healthcare initiative developed by this year’s cohort. This initiative focuses on improving medical service management and increasing accessibility to preventive health screenings, with a target of providing 1 million health check-ups. The program also aims to empower Bangkok residents with greater health literacy, enabling them to manage their well-being proactively and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
The initiative is structured around three key subprojects:
- Bangkok Wellness: A Million Life Checked – Expanding preventive health screening services for the general public.
- Healthy BMA Staff – Promoting health and well-being among Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) employees.
- Smart Health, Smart Lifestyle BKK – Encouraging healthier living through smart healthcare solutions and lifestyle-based wellness programs.
Implementation is set to begin in April 2025, with expectations that the project will significantly improve public access to health check-ups, promote preventive healthcare, and reduce the prevalence of chronic illnesses in Bangkok.
The BMA Nursing Administration Program (Batch 19) was established to equip senior nurses with the knowledge, management skills, and hands-on experience needed to enhance both patient care and healthcare administration. Participants underwent specialized training to develop efficient service delivery models, optimize limited healthcare resources, and lead hospital operations with agility.
The curriculum covered critical areas such as:
● Developing localized healthcare networks, ensuring services reach even the most vulnerable populations.
● Enhancing Bangkok’s Health Network System Standards, improving service integration citywide.
● Upgrading Service Plan Zoning, aligning healthcare resources with population needs.
● Advancing Bangkok’s Health Data Center, using digital innovations to streamline patient information and public health management.
The program also emphasized strategic leadership in healthcare, integrating technology and innovation into service management to ensure Bangkok’s healthcare system remains adaptive, efficient, and future-ready.
This year’s cohort consisted of 30 healthcare professionals from BMA’s Medical Services Department and external agencies, who completed their training between November 19, 2024, and February 14, 2025. The program’s ultimate goal? To equip nurse executives with the expertise to lead and transform Bangkok’s healthcare landscape in the years to come.
