Governor of Bangkok leads Buddhists in making merit by giving alms to 67 monks on Visakha Bucha Day.

 

At the Lankhonmung, BMA. City Hall, Phra Nakhon District: Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok Presided over the merit-making ceremony of giving alms to 67 monks on Visakha Bucha Day 2024. To offer as an offering to Buddha Promote activities on important Buddhist days Continuing Thai traditions and inheriting good traditions in upholding Buddhism. The ceremony was attended by the BMA. administration team, civil servants, BMA. personnel, government agencies, state enterprises, various organizations, and Buddhist citizens.

The 54th Ordinary Session of the United Nations General Assembly on 15 December 1999 adopted a resolution declaring Visakha Bucha Day. It is an important international day in the world. This is a day when the head office and other offices will also organize commemorations as appropriate. Therefore, it is considered an auspicious occasion for Thai Buddhists to come together to celebrate by making merit and practicing Dhamma during the Visakha Bucha Festival.
