Mr. Chatree Wattanakhajorn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA attended a meeting of the working group to solve the problem and transport cadmium sludge so as not to affect the people. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry chaired the meeting from Tak Province via the online system.
At the meeting, executives or representatives of various agencies reported on operations in the relevant areas. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA reported summarizing the rehearsal moving process on 28 April 2024 and the actual moving process on 29 April 2024. Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has inspected cadmium sludge contamination around the wheels and canvas of 6 trucks and outside the area of the Thai Metal Wheel Factory, Bang Sue District (road and entrance area) using XRF equipment. The inspection results found no cadmium sludge contamination.
Currently, officials from the Health Department, Bang Sue District Office, the Department of Health, and the Pollution Control Department, are inspecting the environment inside and outside the factory to collect soil, water, and chemical vapor samples for further laboratory analysis.
