Opening a forum to exchange views from women aiming to drive an equal society on International Women’s Day.

Assoc. Prof. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, participated in a discussion on the topic of women being the drivers and inspirations of change in the activity INVEST IN WOMEN: Women as One of the Backbones of Our Shared Future at Helix Garden, 5th floor, EmQuartier Shopping Center.

Today’s INVEST IN WOMEN is part of activities promoting the rights of women and transgender women during International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 every year. The United Nations, the British Embassy in Thailand, and The Mall Group jointly organized the event, which included a panel discussion by women and transgender women from five different perspectives.

Assoc. Prof. Tavida revealed that previously he was in the academic world where there was little Glass Ceiling because education makes everyone equal. But when she went to work in the disaster industry, she was seen as just a girl. When she became deputy governor of Bangkok, she was the only woman on the team and was the key to keeping the team balanced. However, getting to where we are today is not just based on past efforts but also on opportunities that have been opened up. We must try to stand up and see that once you give us a chance, we can do it.

“The challenge in work is unexpected events. Being a woman may make you more sensitive than men, but you have to be careful and learn every day and not be careless. Our lives can be sad or we can make mistakes, but don’t allow yourself to be depressed and pull yourself back quickly,” she said.

In addition, activities promoting the rights of women and transgender women during International Women’s Day include street performance that reflects the myths and prejudices against women and transgender women through gestures and symbols.

on the topic of The Stream of Comprehension for Street Performance, with a group of performers selected by the BIPAM group that represent women’s diverse identities.
