Dr. Wantanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary of BMA welcomed Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister, on the occasion of visiting the Thailand exhibition booth at ITB Berlin 2024. When the Prime Minister arrived at the Bangkok booth, the Permanent Secretary of Bangkok gave souvenirs such as Ban Krua silk, elephant pattern pants, cloth bags with Tosakan’s face pattern, and Bangkok products.
In addition, the Permanent Secretary of Bangkok and the Deputy Director of NBT also attended to listen to the Prime Minister’s vision and announcement of policies to drive the Thai tourism industry at the event “The Amazing Thailand Networking Event” at CityCube Berlin.
Important points include the government setting a goal of generating 90 billion euros in tourism revenue in 2024, facilitating travel by the government granting temporary visa exemptions for India, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan as well as signing a permanent visa exemption agreement between Thailand and China, improving regulations for entertainment venues such as extending opening and closing hours, entertainment venues in key areas, relaxing sales regulations and reducing taxes on alcoholic beverages, taking advantage of unique and beautiful festivals to make Thailand a world-class festival destination.
In this regard, Bangkok is committed to developing and driving tourism and public administration in line with government policy.
