Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is exploring Huawei’s smart city innovations and plans to seek future cooperation across different aspects.
Bangkok deputy governor Tavida Kamolvej on Thursday visited an expo of smart solutions put up by Huawei Technology (Thailand) Ltd at G Tower Grand in Huai Khwang district.
The exhibition was held by the company’s Customer Solution Innovation and Integration Experience Centre (CSIC) to showcase solution innovations in the IT and telecommunications fields.
Tavida said many of these innovations can support BMA operations in areas like public health, IT infrastructure and disaster response.
The deputy governor also shared BMA’s innovations, projects and ambitions with Huawei executives, explaining the administration’s hopes in establishing future cooperation.
“Cooperating with Huawei can help make Bangkok a smart city, with smart culture for smart people,” she said. “The BMA is still lacking in many areas that need immediate attention, such as a digital government platform and integrating the CCTV network with emergency response teams and specialised task forces.”
Tavida added that the city also needs a central data centre to collect and process all information from local administrations. This will help in the formulation of suitable plans for public health services and disaster prevention in each area.
