The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is showcasing the city’s new bus stops and other innovations in an expo at Benjakitti Forest Park Museum.
BMA is set to overhaul all 101 bus stops across the city by next year, deputy governor Wisanu Subsompon said as he visited the BMA Expo 2023 on Saturday.
All bus stop signs, benches and roofs will be redesigned based on the number of commuters using them daily, he said.
Bangkokians are invited to study the three prototypes – small, medium and large – at the fair and give feedback, he added.
Apart from bus stops, the BMA’s Traffic and Transport Department is also showcasing innovation in public transport that helps ease traffic flow and ensures safety.
These innovations include new street lamps, an AI-operated CCTV system that can detect the violation of traffic law, an intelligent traffic management system, a bike-sharing platform, EV charging stations and more.
BMA Expo 2023, which is open to the public from 1pm to 8pm at Benjakitti Forest Park Museum, wraps up on Sunday.
