All sports facilities at Benjakitti Forest Park are available to the public for free, Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt said on Saturday.
The park’s sports facilities include badminton, basketball, pickleball and teqball courts as well as futsal and table tennis tables.
“Besides these sports facilities, the forest park also offers other amenities like shower rooms, toilets and changing rooms free of charge,” the governor said.
“These facilities were built using the state budget and the city intends to expand them further to cover more sports and exercise.”

Benjakitti Park, sometimes spelled Benchakitti Park, officially opened its doors in 2004 in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on her 72nd birthday.
The 300-rai park, built on land owned by the Tobacco Authority of Thailand, stands next to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. It is also connected to Lumpini Park in Bangkok’s CBD area by a 1.3km-long elevated pedestrian walkway.
Benjakitti was turned into a forest park last year and now incorporates wetlands, cycle paths, overhead walkways and a bicycle trail.
