Message from the BMA Annual Report 2023
Governor of Bangkok
“A Livable City for All” is the ultimate goal the Bangkok Metropolitan
Administration (BMA) is striving to achieve in its primary mission of enhancing happiness
among Bangkokians by further developing the metropolis. To achieve this goal, the BMA has
endeavored to increase public and green spaces, facilitate greater public travel convenience,
and promote comprehensive and inclusive access to healthcare services.
In the past year, the BMA’s officers and I united to improve the quality of life in
Bangkok in line with the 9 Aspects of 9 Good Policies. This aims to develop Bangkok in
nine aspects covering 28 agendas such as promoting the employment of disabled people,
promoting soft power through festivals held throughout the year in different parts of
Bangkok, installing additional CCTV cameras and lighting, employing staff to assist teachers
with documentation according to the “Return Teachers to Students” program, improving
footpaths to ensure the safety of pedestrians, addressing the PM2.5 issue, and so forth. The
public are encouraged to share their opinions on the website, Bangkok Open Policy, and
file their complaints via the Traffy Fondue online platform. In addition, the BMA initiated
the “BMA PR Ambassadors” project to recruit new-gen staff to uniformly and efficiently
disseminate the BMA’s policies and missions to the general public.
I and all BMA executives and staff are more than ready to work with a proactive
working mindset to provide people-centric services and promote operational transparency.
Concomitantly, we encourage collaboration with all sectors in the development of Bangkok
for residents’ well-being and better quality of life.
On this occasion, I invoke the Triple Gem and the host of the sacred pantheon to
bestow good health, strong willpower, and safety on all BMA executives and staff so that
they can continue united in the effort to accomplish all of the BMA’s missions for the
optimal benefit of Bangkokians and society as a whole.
Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt
Governor of Bangkok
