Forty-one trees will grow from the five bullet-wood and 36 yellow-trumpet saplings planted in a public area near the Chao Phraya River in Rat Burana district on Saturday, city officials said.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration permanent secretary Khachit Chatchawanit led district officials in the planting ceremony as part of the administration’s effort to create more green areas and reduce air pollution in the capital.
Rat Burana district officials have developed a public area at the end of Soi Rat Burana 1 for local residents to exercise or rest with spectacular views of the Chao Phraya River.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt aims to grow 1 million trees across the capital and ensure residents can access a public park within 15 minutes.
