BMA Organizes Merit-Making Ceremony on the 7th Day (Sattamavara) of the Demise of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita

(17 June 2026) At 07.00 hrs. Mr. Narong Ruengsri, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), presided over the merit-making ceremony dedicated to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita at Lan Khon Mueang, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha), Phra Nakhon District.

During the ceremony, the BMA Permanent Secretary lit incense sticks and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem, lit the Khrueang Thong Noi (minor offering sets), and paid respects before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita. Following the request for the Five Precepts by ceremonial officials and the blessing given by the presiding monk, 10 high-ranking monks (Phra Raja Khana) chanted Buddhist prayers (Thawai Phon Phra) to dedicate the merits to the late Princess. Subsequently, the BMA Permanent Secretary, alongside executive members of the BMA, offered alms to the 10 high-ranking monks, presented saffron robes (Pha Trai) and ecclesiastical offerings (Jatu Paccaya Thaiyadharma), and performed the ritual of pouring water (Krod Nam) to dedicate the royal merits. Following the conclusion of the monastic rituals, the BMA Permanent Secretary, executives, civil servants, and personnel of the BMA, together with other participants, offered alms to 47 monks and signed the book of condolences before the portrait of the Princess to pay tribute to her boundless royal benevolence.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has scheduled alms-offering ceremonies for 47 monks and novices to mark the 7th day, 15th day, 50th day, and 100th day of the demise at Lan Khon Mueang, Bangkok City Hall. The upcoming merit-making and alms-offering ceremonies dedicated to the late Princess include:

  • The 15th-day memorial service (“Pannarasamavara”) on Thursday, 25 June 2026.
  • The 50th-day memorial service (“Panyasamavara”) on Thursday, 30 July 2026.
  • The 100th-day memorial service (“Satamavara”) on Friday, 18 September 2026.
