
(February 14, 2025) – Dr.Wantanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), presided over the opening ceremony of the “Love in the Sky 2025” to mark this year’s Valentine’s Day.
The event was held at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district through a collaboration between Chatuchak District Office and SRT Electrified Train (SRTET), operator of SRT Red Line. The initiative aimed to offer a unique experience for couples on this special day.
Dr.Wantanee congratulated 24 couples they embarked on their journey of married life and, and joined them on the “Train of Love”, marking the historic marriage registration aboard an electric train.
Director of Chatuchak District, Phatthakon Sinsuk, took her part as registrar for the marriage registration. SRTET managing director Suthep Phanpheng, also attended the event to congratulate new couples.
“Love in the Sky 2025” marks a new Milestone of Bangkok’s history, as an electric train becomes a venue for couples of all ages and genders to express their love. This event also reflects social values that accept and respect everyone’s rights.
The highlight of the event was the marriage registration aboard SRT Red Line suburban train, where couples exchanged their vows against the spectacular backdrop of Bangkok’s suburbs and Don Mueang International Airport.
Moreover, 24 couples who registered their marriage on the train captured images in unseen areas that nobody has experienced before, such as inside the Red Line train’s driver cabin and a view of Don Mueang Airport.
Couples have received a lot of gifts, including a 1.8-liter rice cooker with a special design, global travel insurance from Dhipaya Insurance, a photo of the heart-shape landscape at Phu Kradueng National Park taken by THEOS-2 satellite from the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), a gift set from PTT Group, gift vouchers from Big C Supercentre, and gifts from Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel, Best Western Chatuchak Hotel, Vita Daily Stick and other sponsors.
This activity not only celebrates marriage registration in Valentine’s Day but also highlights the power of love and respect for human diversity.
All couples who participated in this activity have demonstrated their commitment to starting their journey together in a unique setting — travelling on the Red Line train which symbolizes a connection of hearts and an unbounded love.
