(January 26, 2025) Dr. Wantanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary for the BMA, participated in the opening ceremony of the National Creative Performing Arts Exhibition as part of the “Bundit Pattanasilp: Sustaining the Arts of Siam” festival. The event took place at Lan Khon Mueang Townsquare in front of Bangkok City Hall, Phra Nakhon District.
Dr. Wantanee expressed her delight in collaborating with the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, under the Ministry of Culture, to host this significant event at Lan Khon Mueang. As a public space open to both governmental and private organizations, Lan Khon Mueang provides a platform for activities that benefit society and the nation. Its central location, well-known among both Thai and international visitors, makes it an ideal venue for promoting and preserving Thailand’s cultural heritage, in line with the event’s objectives.
The festival, held on January 25 and 26, 2025, highlights efforts to conserve, celebrate, and share Thailand’s cultural traditions. It aims to inspire cultural pride and deepen appreciation for the nation’s heritage, while using these cultural assets to enhance Thailand’s economic value. This initiative aligns with Bangkok’s vision of becoming a hub for creative economy and lifelong learning, fostering sustainable collaboration between the BMA and the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute. Dr. Wantanee emphasized her hope that visitors would enjoy the performances and gain a deeper appreciation of Thai art forms, feeling pride in the country’s cultural legacy.
The festival, co-organized by the BMA and the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, ran from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM over the two days. The event featured an impressive array of performances and cultural displays, aiming to preserve and promote Thai traditions while enhancing the country’s reputation and contributing to economic growth. The program included stunning performances in dance, music, visual arts, and fine arts, showcasing the unique charm and deep-rooted cultural identity of Thailand. These displays were designed to captivate audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds, emphasizing the richness of Thailand’s enduring heritage.
The event highlights included live performances of Thai and international music, regional folk music, traditional Thai dances, regional dances from all four regions of the country, and innovative performances. Around 1,000 performers from across Thailand participated. Visitors also had the opportunity to enjoy and purchase local goods and traditional cuisine representing all four regions of Thailand.
