BMA joins hands with ThaiRAP to bring iRAP assessment standards to use on Bangkok’s roads. Design city streets with Urban Street Design to have a safety rating of 3 stars or higher for people of all age groups.

Today, roads serve more than just routes for transporting people, goods, and services. There is also support for the mix of various activities in the surrounding area, such as commercial areas and community areas. which must be safe, sustainable, flexible, and economically beneficial and facilitate many forms of road users

One tool that has been accepted and applied in many countries is the assessment of safety levels using international standards, also known as iRAP, which is a star rating or Star Rating is one of the methods that can be used to measure the level of safety. Road The international standards and target values for safe roads should be 3 stars or higher.

Assist in evaluating the current road conditions in the 530-kilometer Bangkok network and evaluating the pilot road, District 1, 3-Star Road, as well as drafting a safety model for the outer ring road in Bangkok or the Ratchadaphisek Ring Road. By applying the concept of urban street design or Urban Street Design to improve roads to have safety of 3 stars or higher.
This is the main goal of applying measures from iRAP. is to raise the standard of Safe at least 3 stars for people of all groups and ages.
