The Prime Minister followed up on the progress of the development of the Prem Prachakorn Canal to demolish 1,196 encroaching houses and construct a dam, which was 30.88% advanced.

 

Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok welcomed Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister, on the occasion of inspecting the progress of the development of the Prem Prachakorn Canal by taking a passenger boat from SCG Pier, Bang Sue District, to PTT Public Park Pier. , Lak Si District.

 

For the progress of the Prem Prachakorn Dam construction project by the Department of Drainage, the overall project area has reached a total of 9,208 or 35.20% and the dam has been built 7,910 meters or 30.88%, with the removal of 1,196 encroaching houses from a total of 4,398 houses. The current project progress is 30.88% (information as of 30 April 2024).

 

In addition, Bangkok in collaboration with SCG and PTT implemented the Prem Prachakon Chaloem Phrakiat Canal Development Project from SCG to PTT Public Park, including improvements to 5 pier infrastructure:

1. SCG Pier

2. Thetsaban Songkhro Road Pier

3. Samian Nari Temple Pier

4. Pracha Ruamjai Community Pier

5. PTT Public Park Pier

 

In addition, the construction of 5 pedestrian bridges across the canal from SCG to Ratchadaphisek Road to PTT Public Park is in progress. It includes the construction of a dam and the improvement of the canal walkway from SCG to Ratchadaphisek Road and from Ratchadaphisek Road to PTT Public Park. It is expected to be completed by June 2024.
