Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, attended the opening ceremony of National Labor Day 2024 at the City Hall area, Bangkok City Hall. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior presided over the opening ceremony.
In the morning, the Governor of Bangkok along with Dr. Wantanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary of BMA, attended a Buddhist ceremony at the Lan Khon Mueang Townsquare. After the Buddhist ceremonies were completed, a procession of workers, administrators, and Ministry of Labor officials from the area of JorPor Ror intersection on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road arrived at the Kon Mueang Plaza, Bangkok City Hall. To celebrate National Labor Day, activities and stage performances will be held throughout the day.
Currently, Bangkok has announced permission for protesters to use 7 areas provided by Bangkok for public gatherings, including 1. Lan Khon Mueang Townsquare, Phra Nakhon District, 2. Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japanese), Din Daeng District, 3. The public area under Ratchavipha Bridge near Soi Vibhavadi Rangsit 36, Chatuchak District, 4. Parking lot in front of Phra Khanong District Office 5. Chaloem Phrakiat 72nd Birthday Sports Center, Min Buri District, 6. Chaloem Phrakiat Sports Center, Thung Khru District, and 7.
