Bangkok has started! The problem of traffic congestion in front of Central World must be solved to focus on public safety and hasten the management of taxis that exploit tourists.

Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, followed up on solving the problem of traffic congestion on Ratchadamri Road in front of Central World Department Store, Pathumwan District, in the case of taxis and tricycles waiting for passengers, which obstructed traffic.

He ordered relevant agencies to strictly regulate traffic to remove such insults.

He said it is a bus stop and a no-parking lane, but taxis and tricycles often disobey. This prevents buses from entering their stops and requires them to park in the second lane, which poses a risk to passengers. What follows is traffic congestion, taxis not using meters, accepting only foreigners, unfair bargaining, and obstructing traffic. He has coordinated with the police and related agencies to seriously solve the problem, including investigating taxis that take advantage of passengers, especially tourists, which is one complaint that has been received.

In the bus lane, buses will not be able to wait for passengers, resulting in traffic jams. There is taxi parking next to the Police Hospital and in front of Pathumwananurak Park. He ordered signs to be erected requesting people’s cooperation not to take taxis in the area for safety and to solve the problem of not using taxi meters. We would like to ask for everyone’s cooperation in solving the problem together for the safety of all of us.

“Today, the police, the Department of Land Transport and the Traffic and Transport Bureau are working together to rigorously resolve this issue. I ask for everyone’s cooperation and don’t get in the car in front of the mall. The situation is starting to improve, but the insults about not being able to do it for more than 3 days must be erased. Everyone must cooperate seriously. Thank you to all the agencies that solved the problem together. The law is a sensitive matter and I would like to ask for cooperation from the police to continue to strictly enforce it,” he said.
