Mr. Somboon Homnan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA, presided over the welcome reception for Mr. Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow at Pathumma Room, Siam Kempinski Hotel, Pathumwan District.

The Minister of the Government of Moscow and his delegation are scheduled to visit Bangkok from 27-30 March 2024 to strengthen friendly relations and strengthen cooperation and exchanges between Moscow and Bangkok.

In this regard, Bangkok established Friendship City relations with Moscow, Russian Federation, on June 19, 1997, intending to exchange information and experiences as well as develop fields of cooperation in education and science, culture, environmental protection, tourism, and sports for the mutual development and benefit of the two cities, for example, tourism, economic management, urban development and exchange of visits by high-ranking government officials from both cities, etc.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the years 2023 – 2025 was signed on March 31, 2023.
There is cooperation in the areas of trade and economy, smart cities, innovation and transport, sustainable development and the environment, education, sports and culture and tourism.
