Bangkok joins forces with partners to pass on knowledge through The Air We Share exhibition, aiming to solve the city’s dust problem with participation and pilot the landmark SKYWALK in the heart of the city at Pathumwan Intersection from today until 3 April 2024.

At the walkway connecting the National Stadium BTS Station, Pathumwan District, Dr. Wantanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary of BMA, attended the opening ceremony of The Air We Share exhibition. Bangkok (Bangkok) together with the BTS group of companies, the Health Promotion Foundation (Thai Health Promotion Foundation), and the government, private sector, and civil society organized activities from 22 March to 3 April 32024 to hold a knowledge exhibition, a Mini Workshop, making DIY air purifiers, DIY dust masks, a dust-free lung health check-up clinic, a booth advising on planting dust-filtering trees, giving away trees to reduce dust, a dust-free room for good lungs, Alternative transportation to reduce dust, board game PM2.5 Bangkok crisis, Mini survey, reflections of Bangkok people and public communication to solve the problem of PM2.5 dust in Bangkok that affects health. The goal is for the general public to be aware and participate in solving the dust problem.

The Permanent Secretary of BMA said that the main source of PM2.5 dust in Bangkok comes from over 50% of diesel cars. Bangkok has established more than 30 measures to reduce dust, such as the Work from Home campaign when the PM 2.5 dust level is at the red level, including cooperation with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation to campaign for changing engine oil and air filters in cars and organize The Air We Share activities as a pilot in the Pathumwan area to focus on creating knowledge for everyone to be aware of the problem of dust and air pollution. It is the development of ways to prevent and solve problems from the beginning, aiming to reduce the use of private cars, leading to the participation of all sectors, especially the public sector, in developing ways to reduce air pollution in line with Bangkok’s 365-day dust reduction plan in 2024.
