Bangkok aims to develop the Benjakitti Sports Center in honor of His Majesty the King on the Celebrations on The Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024

 

Mr. Somboon Homnan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA, went to the area to follow the policy of the Governor of Bangkok for the construction of the sports building area development project, Benjakiti Sports Center, Khlong Toei District. It is to be presented as a project to honor His Majesty the King on the Celebrations on The Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024

In this regard, Benjakiti Park is a large public park in the heart of the city with a total area of 450 rai on the land of the Tobacco Authority of Thailand (TOAT). BMA has renovated the tobacco factory’s tobacco curing warehouse area to become a sports center and has been made available to the public for free since mid-June 2023.

The indoor arena consists of 7 sports: Basketball, Street Basketball, Badminton, Futsal, Table Tennis, Pickleball and Teqball. Benjakitti Sports Center is one of the area development plans of the Sports Division of the Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism Department according to plans to improve sports grounds in public spaces throughout Bangkok.
