Bangkok is the center connecting network partners in the area to organize activities to promote the Khlong Ong Ang identity to stimulate the area’s economy sustainably.

Mr. Aekvarunyoo Amrapala, BMA Spokesperson and Assistant Secretary to the Governor of Bangkok, reveals guidelines for organizing Khlong Ong Ang Walking Street activities under the concept of organizing sustainable events. The community and people in the area are the main organizers, but in the first phase, Bangkok is ready to be the center of cooperation between all sectors, including the government, private sector, communities, and academic departments as well as facilitating space for organizing. activities that highlight the identity of the Khlong Ong Ang area every last weekend of the month, except for the rainy season, starting in April 2024, to stimulate the economy of Khlong Ong Ang sustainably.

The idea for organizing activities in the Khlong Ong Ang area is every last week of the month on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., except for the rainy season from June to September.
It is to introduce the identity and highlight the area’s highlights, including annual special festivals such as Loy Krathong, Songkran, and Chinese New Year, with the support of the ThaiBev Group as the developer of the Nakhon Kasem area, the Indian Association of Thailand, Mega Plaza Department Store, etc.

Bangkok has plans to trial a pilot activity on Khlong Ong Ang Walking Street in April. It begins with the activity of offering alms to monks at Wat Bophit Phimuk Worawihan on the water along Khlong Ong Ang and around the city for Songkran Day. From the end of April – the beginning of May 2024, under the concept of Hobby & Toys together with a group of toy store operators that highlight the Saphan Lek area, there will be many activities along both sides of the canal, Phra Nakhon and Samphanthawong areas. Such as selling toys, toys from the past, Dragon Ball remembrance, Playing Space, play area (Yuki cardboard game), Street Art, art creation space, drawing like a student at Poh Chang College and Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, as well as a space for music. It includes water activities, kayaking as well as various identities such as Street Food, and Indian food. In the future, there will be many activities and festivals, such as the Flower Festival with vendors in the Pak Khlong Talat area and the Book & Gift Fest during the Christmas and New Year period.
