Deputy Permanent Secretary of Bangkok emphasizes “sportsman spirit” and delivers encouragement to Bangkok athletes who will participate in the 39th National Youth Games.

At the West Sports Building 2, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan), Din Daeng District, Mr. Somboon Homnan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA, presided over a group of Bangkok athletes on the occasion of participating in the 39th National Youth Games.

He said that Bangkok has continually sent athletes to compete in national sports and that Bangkok athletes have always brought fame to Bangkok. The success that has occurred is due to the cooperation of all parties, whether it be the team manager, coaches, or assistant coaches. More importantly, the athletes themselves have trained and endured to win in the competition.

“I would like to ask all athletes to be aware of their important role as representatives of Bangkok, which is not only to be talented but also to be disciplined, have good sportsmanship, and be generous to athletes, referees, and the places they visit. I urge everyone to compete to the best of their abilities with a true sportsman spirit to bring fame to Bangkok and themselves. On this occasion, we would like to thank all those involved for their dedication to ensuring that Bangkok athletes are physically and mentally ready to participate in the competition. I wish the athletes success, great friendship and pride, and safe travels,” he concluded.

The Bureau of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Department will send athletes representing Bangkok to participate in the 39th National Youth Games, Ratchaburi Games, between 21 – 31 March 2024 in Ratchaburi Province. There are a total of 1,065 athletes representing Bangkok participating in the competition, covering 40 sports.
