Assoc. Prof. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, attended the Cobra Gold 24 exercise, which is a humanitarian aid and disaster relief exercise. It is an availability disaster recovery (HADR DEMO) with participants from 65 agencies from 8 countries.
In this regard, Bangkok has organized a fire and rescue team of the Bureau of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to participate in the training with 92 personnel in 9 operational teams: 1. Incident Command and Control Team 2. Fire Fighting Team 3. Chemical Accident Response Team 4. Urban Search and Rescue Team 5. Communications Team 6. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Team 7. Water Rescue Team 8. Medical team 9. Resource Team
On the last day of training (28 Feb. 2024), there was an inspection by commanders of various agencies and a viewing of various simulation exercises such as a firebase that had a large LPG gas leak and a large fire, a building collapse that required USAR urban rescue teams to search and rescue victims, water rescue operation base using the water rescue team of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, training with volunteer foundations and foreigners, including a chemical rescue base. From training together for the past 3 days, the training has been prepared and has great potential. Every unit is committed and works together to complete the mission successfully and is well prepared to deal with disasters that will occur in the future.
