Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, attended the press conference “Bangkok Pride 2024 Celebration of Love” at the multipurpose room area, 1st floor, Bangkok Art and Culture Center (Bacc), Pathumwan District.
Deputy Governor of Bangkok on behalf of the city alliance said: that Bangkok is supporting the Bangkok Pride Festival for the third year now. We commend the LGBTIQ network which is one of the strongest and has clear proposals to the government. Anything that the BMA can do will be done immediately, such as equal marriage, which last Valentine’s Day the BMA opened for marriage registration in all 50 districts, totaling 165 couples. If the Cabinet approves the law, these 165 couples will be able to register their marriages immediately.

In addition, Bangkok is also preparing to facilitate and support the Bangkok Pride event to achieve its objectives, especially the march that will increase safety and provide various conveniences for children, the disabled, the elderly, and Pet friendly. It also covers public relations support for LGBT+ Thais and international tourists. After Pride throughout the year, Bangkok is continuing its work to join the Rainbow Cities Network, a global city network that ensures livable cities for all. In addition, we have a big mission to host WorldPride 2030, which must also improve the city’s character and strengthen its LGBT community. We hope to be able to organize a WorldPride event under the name Bangkok WorldPride 2030.
In this regard, Bangkok Pride Festival 2024 is not only a gathering phenomenon for the LGBTQIAN+ community but is also an important space to affirm gender equality rights for people with diverse sexualities. Registration for the parade is open both at the event and online through www.bangkokpride.org.
This year’s “Bangkok Pride Festival 2024” parade route will be on Rama 1 Road, starting from the Supachalasai National Stadium area, passing in front of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Siam Discovery Shopping Center, Siam Center, Siam Paragon, Pathum Wanaram Temple to the Ratchaprasong intersection in front of Central World. It will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and there will be many other performances.
