Sarasin Road vendors have been moved into the vacant space in front of Lumpini Park at the intersection of Sarasin Road and Ratchadamri Road.

Mr. Chakkaphan Phewngam, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, surveyed the area to follow up on the relocation of traders from Sarasin Road to the vacant space in front of Lumpini Park at the intersection of Sarasin Road and Ratchadamri Road, Pathumwan District.

Previously, the district has taken steps to improve the vacant space in front of Lumpini Park at the intersection of Sarasin Road and Ratchadamri Road to create a place to accommodate traders moving from Sarasin Road. The district has implemented a project to improve the sidewalks on Sarasin Road on the Lumpini Parkside. Therefore, traders have been moved to do business in the area, including facilitating the people who use the sidewalks along Sarasin Road and solving the traffic congestion problem during rush hours by coordinating with the Public Works Department to adjust the condition of the area, the Drainage and Sewerage Department to improve and raise the level of manhole covers, the Environment Department to maintain trees, and utility agencies to move electric poles.
The district has prepared store layouts, tables and chairs, container washing points, garbage disposal points, and publicizing and organizing meetings with merchants to inform them of the organization of the trading area. Most vendors sell ready-to-eat food, beverages, and fruit. Vendors must set up stalls inside next to the Lumpini Park fence and set up tables and chairs for eating in the middle of the area. As well as attaching vinyl signs to make it neat.

In this regard, the Deputy Governor of Bangkok has created an understanding with traders of the importance of the public sector in organizing trading areas. The district has prepared a place to accommodate traders moving from Sarasin Road to do business in the area. We ask for cooperation from traders not to place their products encroaching on the sidewalk or beyond the designated lines. It includes storing trading equipment and cleaning the area after each trading day. Stores that sell beverages or store ice for fresh food and fruit must regularly check that there is no melted ice pooling in front of the store. Food stores must separate food scraps and grease and dispose of them at a location provided by the district. The district must improve the surrounding landscape and provide additional ornamental shrubs to be planted for shady and beautiful conditions.
