Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt on Tuesday met with Japanese businesspeople led by Kuroda Jun, president of the Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro) to discuss cooperation to improve the city and attract foreign investors.
They discussed how Jetro and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have been working together to enhance Bangkok as well as future plans for public-private sector projects involving carbon credit trading, using AI technology to fix traffic problems, flood prevention, and waste-water management.
Members of Jetro told the BMA Bangkok could attract more investment from Japan by providing investment promotional privileges and streamlining the company registration process.
Representatives of nine Japanese companies attended the meeting: Neural Group, NTT Group, Mitsubishi Electric Group, Zeroboard, Mitsubishi Heavy Industry, Hitachi Zosen Corporation, SUN-UP Recycling, Aldagram, and GAINA.
