BMA. rushes to update information on all 933 sports plazas before preparing to welcome the hosting of the 2025 SEA Games in Bangkok.

Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok Chaired the meeting to coordinate operations between the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Department. and district office To determine guidelines for the management and development of Bangkok’s sports fields.

Currently, there are 933 sports fields in Bangkok, divided into 3 types: 100 public sports fields, 494 community sports fields, and 339 school sports fields.

The chairman of the meeting assigned the Community Development and Social Welfare Department of the 50 districts to report current changes to the sports fields in the area, including:

  1. Dissolution of sports fields that are inappropriate, unsafe, deserted, and are no longer being used by the people.
  2. Consider separating the types of sports fields that are public because some sports fields are in government or private areas, making them unable to be fully opened for public use.
  3. Reporting on problems and obstacles in developing sports fields in all dimensions.

The work must be completed by May 24, 2024, for relevant agencies to analyze or coordinate to solve problems for maximum efficiency to support the arrival in Bangkok will host the 2025 SEA Games
