BMA x network partners Organize health activities Join in protecting children and youth from e-cigarettes. On World No Tobacco Day

Assoc. Prof. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok Presided over the opening ceremony of the walking-running activity to campaign to quit smoking. On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day at Square A, Central World Shopping Center. and Pathumwananurak Park, Pathumwan District

Deputy Governor Tavida said thank you for today’s cooperation of people who breathe the same air, have families, have children, young people who are grandchildren. This is a future where we have to help take care of him to grow up to be a healthy adult. Today’s cooperation for the campaign to stop smoking has not just begun, but it has been an effort for a very long time. Although cigarette smoking appears to be decreasing overall. But nothing is certain when e-cigarettes suddenly appear. Makes us worry again. And it appears that it will spread more rapidly than when it was a rolled cigarette. This is because of receiving misinformation from various sources that e-cigarettes are less dangerous or not harmful. Today’s activity does not want to be just a campaign for just one week and one month. But we will continue to make this thing truly disappear from our society. I want this event to be a promise from everyone that we will help each other. To make society not accept things that are lies and distortions. and do not respond to things that are harmful to health

“Today’s cooperation is to add fuel to the fire once again To point us together to make it more complete. Take it more seriously It will not be done continuously, it will not be just a pretty discourse anymore. May this intention remain with everyone. Let it be a campaign to add fuel to the opposition and aim to result in the cessation of smoking as much as possible both in Bangkok and Thailand,” said Deputy Governor Tavida.

On this occasion, Deputy Governor Tavida participated in a discussion on the topic. “Create great power..jointly protect children and youth from e-cigarettes” by telling about the role of Bangkok in protecting children and youth from e-cigarettes. and give awards of honor to individuals and organizations that have done good work in controlling and campaigning for smoking cessation.
