“I am delighted and honored to be here to open the training today. It was the second time. The first batch was a group of sweepers and municipal officials who were the Bangkok team working closest to the area and who saw the sunrise before anyone else. This second batch is training for public relations officers and public relations practitioners of 50 district offices. They are the main force in Bangkok who play a direct role in communicating with the public and conveying the beauty and progress of the city’s development according to the policies of the Governor of Bangkok to the public. Enhancing photography skills will enhance the potential of Bangkok’s public relations professionals to be able to take photos that convey a green city that is livable, safe, convenient for travel, and creative for learning. It will become an even more attractive economic hub full of hope and opportunity for all.” Mr. Somboon Homnan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA, spoke on the occasion of presiding over the opening ceremony of the workshop “Photography Techniques for Public Relations” Batch 2 at Bangkok City Hall (Giant Swing), Phra Nakhon District.
Deputy Permanent Secretary of BMA said that he is very grateful to the Photographic Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage for recognizing the importance of developing Bangkok personnel to learn modern and inspirational photography techniques. It is an important part that makes Bangkok’s communications reach the hearts of the people even more. It is also a part of pushing for Bangkok to have an image library that is valuable and beneficial to society.
Driving Bangkok to be a livable city for everyone under the policy towards 9 “good” categories of the Bangkok Governor to see concrete results requires communication to create understanding and participation from all groups of citizens. Moreover, BMA personnel play an important role in conveying the story of Bangkok through photography to the public to stimulate awareness, understanding, and positive attitudes toward Bangkok’s operations.
