We invite everyone to visit the origins of the fish pattern pants worn by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and Mr. Wirat Meenchainunt, Chairman of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council Member of BMC Min Buri District on Mom Chao Ngam Supradit Road, Min Buri District, yesterday ( 13 April 2024)
It conveys the slogan of Minburi District, “City of fish, popular grass and old provinces”. It is one of the identities that represents the ancient province of Minburi, which was founded more than 120 years ago.
#The city of fish has its origins when King Rama V bestowed the name along with the city of Thanyaburi or the city of rice in 1902. The fish that is the symbol of Minburi is the “Golden Carp”.
#Famous grass in Minburi is one of the sources for producing and growing grass for laying fields in Bangkok. They have many varieties including Nuan Noi grass, Japanese grass, and Malaysian grass. In the past, most villagers farmed grass, but nowadays it has greatly decreased.
In addition, there is an ancient teak building “#Minburi Provincial City Hall” that is very old. Currently, it is preserved as a Minburi City History Museum at the Minburi District Office for the public to visit.
#Mom Chao Ngam Supradit Road was established in the name of the first and only governor of Minburi Province.
