Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)’s Environment Department has been busy over the past few days decorating important venues and roads in the city with to mark the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on July 28 and of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on August 12.

The BMA was mainly using flowers of yellow and purple colours, including marigolds, Siam tulips, orchids, bromeliad, cock’s comb, zinnia and pink periwinkle.
The city has also built floral arches over portraits of Their Majesties and installed them around the Grand Palace, the Maha Chetsadabodin Pavilion Court, Phan Fa Lilat Bridge, and the public park opposite Royal Rattanakosin Hotel in Phra Nakhon district to celebrate these auspicious occasions.
The floral decorations represent Thai people’s gratitude toward the royal kindness of Their Majesties, Aekvarunyoo said.
