Announcement of the “Green City Champion Award”
This was done to honor the Bangkok Governor for taking on a leading role in the city's
efforts to tackle climate change. Five cities – Medell?n, Colombia; Alexandria, Egypt;
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Quezon City, the Philippines; and the City of Ekurhuleni,
South Africa – had been recipients of the award in the past.
