“Wit in Bangkok 2024” opens space for science lovers and the public at Benjakitti Forest Park.

 

 

Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok Chaired the opening ceremony of the Bangkok Science and Technology Festival 2024 “Wit in Bangkok 2024” and was a speaker at a special seminar on the topic “Using Technology to Solve Bangkok City Problems” at Benjakiti Park, Khlong Toei District

 

Deputy Governor of Bangkok said that this August is the month of science according to the policy of “12 festivals throughout the year throughout Bangkok”. This event is therefore about science and science related to the city. which Bangkok has organized continuously for the 3rd year. This year there were more than 50 network partners participating. Each party has different knowledge of science such as biology, astronomy, and mathematics.

“Because the city is diverse. Each person has different interests in each area. Therefore, when August enters, there will be an event “Wit in Bangkok” organized for science lovers and combining everything into one event,” said Deputy Sanon at the opening of the event.

 

The Deputy Governor of Bangkok also said that the heart of this work is education, which is divided into 2 points: 1. Learning is choosing to study things that we are interested in and want to learn more about. 2. Education is studying according to the format that has been set. And then, for example, in the classroom, compulsory curriculum, this “Wit in Bangkok 2024” event.

In addition to being a space for science lovers, it is also a space for families to bring their children to do activities together for free. Science cannot be separated from everyday life. Because science is about explaining what happened. Education in many fields has its origins in knowledge of science. Because the science of understanding nature all comes from the foundation of science.

 

“BMA policy is, taking the urban context and using technology. By starting by taking the problems of the city as the location. Then find the necessary technology to solve the problem. A clear example today is the use of Traffy Fondue, etc., and now BMA has established a digital agency. To support current technology is the ‘Digital Bureau’ that will bring technology as a main factor in city development as well,” Deputy Sanon concluded.
