BMA. smiles with 1,059 restaurants joining “No.pouring in” to separate 40 tons of food scraps per day, proof that “every piece of trash has a way to go” If handled correctly.”

Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth, Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok and the first Chief Sustainability Officer of the BMA revealed that currently there are 1,059 restaurants in Bangkok (only single restaurants Not including those in department stores) that participate in the “No.pouring in” project.
Together, they can separate 39,581 kilograms of food waste per day (or nearly 40 tons per day). In the past, it was a major source. that does a good job of separating waste But this little restaurant was found. Together we can greatly separate and reduce waste for disposal.
Overall, 277 tons of food scraps can be separated per day, or a total of 8,587 tons in April only. This exceeds the 2024 target set at 200 tons per day for these 1,059 restaurants. Food waste management methods can be divided as well, such as the district office collecting and using them. (Make fertilizer/compost/send to farmers) 23.6% The district office coordinates with farmers to pick up directly at the shop. 76% The shop makes its compost. 0.4%

Mr. Pornphrom said that today every piece of garbage has a way to go if it can be managed properly. When these restaurants separate food scraps This is considered the most difficult waste separation. Most of the remaining dry waste can be sold.
By coordinating with shops that know the buyers and which are in the network with BMA. to come and buy them to promote the circular economy. And now many partners are ready to receive low-value orphan waste such as curry bags and snack/coffee packets to make into fuel as well.
