Bangkok invites you to continue the Appreciation Day for the Elderly to preserve beautiful Thai arts and culture for sustainability.

Mr.Chalermpon Chotinuchit, Deputy Permanent Secretary for BMA, presided over the opening ceremony of the Gratitude Day for the Elderly at Prince Palace Mahanak Hotel, Pom Prap Sattru Phai District.

He said that Bangkok has a policy to take care of the quality of life of the people so that the citizens can have a good quality of life and be happy. It will be an important foundation for creating stability, strength, and prosperity for families, society, and the nation, especially the elderly group as Thai society is now an aging society. Bangkok recognizes that the elderly are extremely valuable human resources in Thai society because they have always made contributions to families, society, and the country. They deserve to be rewarded for their good deeds so they can live in a society with value and dignity, as well as receive protection, welfare, a good quality of life, power, and self-potential. They can participate in social development and the country’s development in a stable, prosperous, and sustainable manner. Therefore, it is a very good sign that the Gratitude Day for the Elderly has been organized today. In addition to continuing to preserve the good Thai arts and cultural traditions for eternity, it is also creating awareness of the value and dignity of the elderly. Promoting participation in social activities of people of all ages with the elderly ensures that the elderly have strong physical and mental strength and can live happily in society as is appropriate for their individuality.

However, the Thai government has a policy to develop people throughout their lives, especially the elderly who are the main group of society. April 13 of every year is National Elderly Day. The Office of Social Development has organized an event to continue the Day of Gratitude for the Elderly to promote morality and ethics in gratitude, build good relationships in families, and preserve Thai arts and culture.
