Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, attended the King Power press conference “RANGNAM’S SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2024”

He said Songkran is an important festival in Thailand and has been declared on UNESCO’s list of Songkran in Thailand as a representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Therefore, holding Songkran events at 118 locations throughout Bangkok will make this year’s Songkran extremely lively and will also promote competition among Bangkok’s various neighborhoods.

It is gratifying to see the power of all sectors including King Power Group, government agencies, the private sector, and the Rangnam community in upgrading Rangnam Road to become a new tourist district in Thailand. It also includes creating an identity for “Rangnam Road” as a new landmark for water play during the Songkran festival. Songkran is considered one of Bangkok’s 12 festival policies throughout the year. Organizing a festival is a short-term economic stimulus and increases economic value as well as opening new business opportunities for Bangkokians. It can also bring out the identity and potential of the area and expand the tourism business after the festival ends. We are confident that this year’s “RANGNAM’S SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2024” event will elevate Rangnam Road to a new destination that welcomes tourists from every corner of the world and reinforces Bangkok as a top travel destination for foreign tourists around the world.

“The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration must support the creation of various creative districts in Bangkok as well as take care of safety per the policy of the Governor of Bangkok to take the best possible care of tourists. It is to have the potential to promote tourism on a global scale and reinforce that Bangkok is the next most attractive city in the world,” he said at the end.

“RANGNAM’S SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2024” will be held on 11-16 April 2024 to join in continuing Thai traditions with the 4-part Songkran parade along with a variety of artists throughout 6 days.
