On July 31, 2026, Mr. Thanit Tanbuaklee, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), chaired the 4th\/2026 Law Development Committee Meeting of the Social Development Department to evaluate the draft BMA Regulations on Early Childhood Development Centers. Held at the Social Development Department and via teleconference, the meeting brought together department executives and representatives from all six district zones to reform municipal childcare frameworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, BMA Early Childhood Development Centers admitted children aged two and above until compulsory school age. Under the new draft regulations, the BMA will expand financial support to eligible centers capable of enrolling infants under two years old, directly assisting working parents who face time constraints in balancing employment and infant care. To ensure high service standards, the committee discussed strict operational guidelines and the recruitment of certified, skilled caregivers. Additionally, the Social Development Department was instructed to collaborate with the Department of Health under the Ministry of Public Health to align care standards and maximize operational efficiency across all facilities. Following this meeting, the draft will undergo further review by the BMA Task Force Law Development Committee in August 2026, with official promulgation and budget allocation expected at the start of Fiscal Year 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
